La città dei contrasti, degli eccessi, della follia e del futuro. Dubai sta correndo su un’autostrada senza limiti di velocità: negli ultimi vent’anni ha scritto la sua storia attraverso opere ingegneristiche spettacolari che crescono come funghi e nello stesso tempo punta su un’industria di turismo di qualità dove nulla viene trascurato. Genio e follia dell’Emiro capo che ha sognato e voluto la città ideale, dove grazie a forti investimenti e regole rigide è stato possibile pianificarla alla perfezione: sviluppo edilizio, economico, comfort e sicurezza ai massimi livelli, portano il turista (e gli abitanti stessi) a vivere una realtà quasi idilliaca. Il cuore di Dubai è il Creek, il canale che spacca in due la città: la parte vecchia domina per incanto, profumi, colori e tradizioni, ma la parte moderna detta sicuramente regole giuste per un futuro prosperoso.
A city of unabashed contrast, ostentatious excess, folly and aspirations of importance, Dubai is racing down a (short) highway (to nowhere) at unlimited speed. Over the last twenty years it has rewritten modern city-history by building spectacular engineering works that have risen like (weeds) mushrooms whilst at the same time focusing on �high-net-worth’ individuals where no need or service goes unfulfilled. Thanks to the eccentric genius of the Emir leader who dreamed of, and wanted an ideal city with strong investment potential coupled to strict rules, the perfect planning of Dubai became a possibility. Real estate and economic development, comfort and safety of the highest level give tourists and locals an almost idyllic lifestyle. At the heart of the city is Dubai Creek, the slow-flowing waterway that divides the old city, a quartier magically dominated by aromas, color and tradition, from the modern one that points the way towards a prosperous future.
